As a woman living in 2024, the sexiest and most feminine thing you can do right now is pull out a cute lip product from a thrifted purse, open a hand mirror, pucker up, and apply it all over your lips. Over the past six months, I’ve spent more than a few hundred dollars on lip products due to TikTok beauty trends. My addiction was so bad that I’m ashamed to say there were days I’d rather shiny, juicy-looking, plump lips and cute packaging over buying groceries.

Right now, everyone is on the hunt for the perfect lip moisturizer – be it a gloss, balm, tint, oil, peptide treatment, etc. The world is obsessed with “lippies”! As corny as it may sound, lippies, a coin termed for a variety of beauty brand’s highly coveted lip products, are currently trending all over social media. It’s hard to go on Instagram or TikTok without seeing an influencer promoting the newest lip oil shades by a celebrity beauty brand, and more recently non-influencers have been sharing their reviews too. That’s right. Everyone and their mom has something to say about what’s on the market. Especially me.

I always get lots of compliments when I wear quality lip products and since I don’t like to gate-keep, I thought I’d share with you my current top 5 favorite lip products that have become absolute essentials in my daily makeup routine.

As someone who often experiences chapped lips in the winter, it’s hard to find products that simultaneously make my lips look good and keep them moisturized. The Rhode peptide lip treatments have earned its spot by providing intense hydration, leaving my lips feeling soft and nourished. Currently, my favorite flavor is “Salted Caramel”; I carry it around with me all day and keep it on my nightstand. Not only does it smell absolutely delicious, but it has a yummy taste which is nice because I already have a habit of licking my lips throughout the day. Its variety neutral shades effortlessly enhances my natural lip color, making it a staple in my everyday makeup routine. My favorite shade for everyday wear right now is currently “Vanilla Beige”, but I tend to cycle through a Summer Fridays “shade of the week” depending on my mood.
